Temple Step is the project of producer and DJ Benjamin Last, who previously worked in the live electronic duo Mantrix. He encountered ecstatic dance in Bali through DJ Lo Qi and the Yoga Barn, later co-founding Ecstatic Dance Melbourne with Madhu Honey.
The music spans downtempo, bass-heavy passages, tribal house and drum and bass. His recorded sets offer the chance to hear those different energies within a complete dance journey, rather than as separate genres.
A September 2026 recording from Ecstatic Dance Salt Lake City documents a recent community performance. His SoundCloud catalogue combines these longer sets with production work, while his artist profile gives more background on the project and its relationship to the dance floor.
